Grant FAQs
-
Applicants will need an ABN and will generally need to be a registered organisation or partnered with an organisation. You do not need to be registered for GST.
-
Generally speaking, we don’t fund profit making businesses or individuals as they’re not considered eligible acts of charity. On occasion we may offer funds especially for these audiences, where funds have been raised for that purpose.
-
In most cases we do not fund projects that are wholly wages, or primarily operations costs. However, we do recognise the importance of valuing time and paying for professional support, and a portion of your funding amount can be used for these costs. Contact us to discuss details specific to your project.
-
We expect you to use your funding based on the needs of that project as you applied for it. We recognise that sometimes these needs may change, or some funding may be unspent. Before spending it elsewhere, you must contact us to discuss if a contract variation is suitable. At times we may request unspent funding to be returned, so it can be redistributed to other community grants.
-
Your funding contract is for 12 months from the date of signing. That means you have 12 months to finish your project. We understand timelines can change and specialists may not be available in the 12 months. Pick up the phone and talk to us about the possibility of extending your contract. You will need to acquit your project on a final report form. A copy will be supplied with your contract, or we can supply another. You have 60 days from the completion of your project to complete the acquittal.
